iOS 10 : can your iPhone pass there without concern ?

The new version of iOS has been available for this evening on iTunes. It is compatible with all the smartphones of Apple until iPhone 5. However, all will not be able to make it turn with the same facility. We jumped the step for you on all these platforms


It is the great day for a good part of the owners of iPhone which will be able to update their operating system. Available since the summer in beta release, iOS 10 - just as watch OS3- finally has just been launched this September 13th at the evening.

To carry out the update, it is necessary to go in Adjustments > General > Put up to date software. However, all the models of iPhone are not eligible. Among those which are it, certain are likely to be well with the sorrow to support the greediness of the new features of iOS 10.


On the side of the processor A9 (which equips the 6s, 6s Plus and SE), nothing to say concerning the transition. We test iOS 10 since the beginning of the summer and its first beta release, it is almost impossible to see a difference of felt between fluidity of iOS 9 and 10.

The models with processors 64 bits draw some well

Not large-thing to be announced either on iPhone using preceding it processor A8 (models 6 and 6 More). Also based on an architecture 64 bits, it provides enough power so that the interface is reactive.
First processor 64 bits of the history of iPhone, equipping the series 5s, A7 also seems to fully benefit from this architecture. One was very afraid on the other hand of the behavior of iPhone 5 and 5c, only eligible models having a processor of only 32 bits, in fact A6, left already four years ago.

One “yes, but” for iPhone 5

It is however the pleasant surprise of our tests, iPhone 5 in our possession also behaves very well under iOS 10. Obviously, the interface is clearly not as fluid as on an iPhone 6s, but it is completely usable with the daily newspaper. The difference compared to an iPhone 4s under iOS 9 is obvious, its predecessor was really with the sorrow with this configuration. It is not at all the case here.

For iPhone 5s, 5 and 5c, it will have however to be seen with time if the reactivity remains with go. By experiment, it can be degraded after a few weeks or month of use. This is why we preferred to classify them in the boxes “to supervise” and “Attention”. Most careful the returns of the other users before cracking for the update will thus wait.
